Albany County Sign Bonanza! From left to right: A junction that's a palindrome just west of the end of NY 396. That NY 396 is an Albany County Sign, by the way, not NYSDOT. Then then we have off center AND off font all in the same sign; a faded sign, and last, a 1991 sign with an off font for the number. The last sign was a recycled sign-the back was painted black, and had about a zillion numbers stuck on it. Unfortunately that doesn't show up too well in a photo.

Old Greene County Signs. I found these two years ago on a STOP sign in Greenville Center-about 2 miles south of NY 81, while loading a hospital bed at somebody's house. You'll note that the black copy is embossed, ad the rend numbers are stickies-It looks like the second sign might've had an even older number. The far left sign is more contemmporary, but it, too shows signs of age-notably the faded lettering. The quality control on the blank cutting doesn't look too hot either...

More Albany County stuff. A junction assembly just past the west end of NY 910G, and a warning about a "17 Tons" Bridge. This is actually a warning for a weight-restricted bridge ahead-a common practice in NY; but the "S" is usually left off. Look closely at the "7", it's a sticky-meaning the weight limit of the bridge has been changed, or they screwed up on the original sign.

The
"Palindrome Concurrency" I posted about on
misc.transport.road sometime ago-you'll note that if you switch the
plates for NY 32 and NY 23, it still works.
