Okay, Here's page 2 of the NY 218 Story. We pick up just west of the Snowplow at the NY 218-293 US 9W junction.

This is the other side of the NY 293 end shot way back in the Pict Mission. NY 218 goes under the bridge and takes an immediate left, merging with US 9W....

....Exiting here at a relatively modern section of US 9W. You're on the NY 218 overpass.

Here's a snap of jüted guardrail. I could fill a lot of pages with pictures just like this. NY guardrail does NOT take a licking and keep on ticking, and NYSDOT takes it's sweet time fixing these things. Who knows how long this has been left go.

Highland Falls is boring, there's not much to see-it's basically a bedroom community for West Point. So we come to the end of NY 218-at a nice fun intersection. The road splitting to the left goes to US 9W north at a suicide give way setup, the right goes to US 9W south and the Highland Falls High School. Love that STOP sign-It's hard to see in a car, never mind a truck or a van.
