More stuff you can find at junction 21. From left to right: An EZ-Pass confirmation signal in idle mode-note the camera-that's to snap you if your EZ-Pass nesses up or you run the lane. A high powered light is mounted on the opposite side of the lane to make sure your plate shows up well. All well and good but what happens to FL and PA drivers who have no front plate ? :) . Small logo sigs, this style is used on most ordinary roads in NY, and a couple of advisories posted in the park-and-ride lot at jn. 21

NYSTA does not logo sign gas and food services at the junctions I've encountered; this is what you'll usually get right here. Standard signs for gas and food.

Here's a money shot of the five-destination sign on the previous page. There are two different fonts here-the lettering is the all-caps "Thruway Font", the numbers are FWHA series "E".

Here's an advance sign for the Thruway on NY 23. It would be nice if they told you where the Thruway goes, wouldn't it?

Another brace of Thruway signs. The far right one is the new day-glo yellow; and it's intended for Thruway employees crossing the EZ-Pass lane to get to the toll booths.
